False Advert

editing the video.

When filming we knew the colours wouldn't be bright enough. We want the advert to look as over the top as possible, so we spent a lot of time trying out different techniques on Adobe Premier Pro to really bring out the colours and shadows to enhance the audience's viewing and their reaction to the message we are trying to spread.

In the final stages of the editing we added a spot light to
these shots to enhance the selling point.

we used a slight pinky tone throughout the
more female adverts as it was very effective.

Whilst grading the shots we had to ensure that there was a high
contrast in order to make the blacks very black,
as this looked more professional than what we originally had.

Design of logo's and posters

These two logo's are for company's that work on keeping the public safe, this is why we have taken them as our main inspiration for this project. We're using one simple word, with a lot of meaning as the name of our company; False. Our slogan is "False; a lie we can all believe in"

These posters are a campaign against abuse in relationships. We loved the simplicity of it and felt this gave more of a hard hitting effect that people would really listen to.

This is our original idea, however it didn't include the two characters that we had created, although we loved the bright colours we didn't feel our message wasn't as clear and decided to develop this. keeping the colour style though.

research

Our group was mainly inspired by the video for "everybodys fool - evanesence" which told the story of a woman who hated her life working in the media, it showed the two sides to her life and how they were so different. All of the advert's that she worked on that built up the music video were very fake and over the top.

This is "The Beckhams" the way the media wants you to see them.
This is who they really are.
This is where we also got our main inspiration from. We don't want a future where everyone that is in the public's eye is a glamourous super model freak kind of person, we want to see people that are real. We want to create an advert and a series of posters that show that the media is just wrong.

Initial Ideas

we wanted an advert that had more meaning, a message to it's audience. here are a few ideas that we came up with

"it could cost you more than you realise"
karma - what goes around comes around
only you can silence yourself
selling objects really obviously ( the truman show )

Karma...
- fits in with being more culturally aware
- subliminal messaging

*rough ideas copied from original notes
- slightly comedic maybe? but also hard hitting to create an interesting contrast for a more memorable advert

Type of person we'll need...
- money motivated
-selfish
-angry
-pessimistic
-independent

- female?
- girl wears no makeup = no attention
tried hard, very superficial
- another man comes along, "you're beautiful, just the way you are"

Jon doing soundtrack... something quite dark but with a moderate speed to it.

Treatment

We wanted to produce an advert, an advert that’s more than just an advert making someone look awesome. we wanted to produce something with meaning. We looked at the beckhams, and the way they’re portrayed in the media compared to the way they actually are at home, in their own time and space.  The way they’re portrayed in adverts and magazines couldn’t be anymore different than how they are really. Having had three children together, it is clear that really both Victoria and David are in fact not the people we see in the adverts, they’re false, they’re selling something simply to get the money. However when they’re being bombarded by paparazzi and the photographs are sold, the beckhams are with their children, or holding hands caringly. We see a completely different side to them. Our advert is all about the false personalities that we, the audience, are given to feed off of, to be inspired by.
By creating a brand called “false”, slapping it on every cosmetic item we can think of and then producing numerous adverts, with over the top acting, unrealistic colours and vain, over confident characters. The advert shows you just how ridiculous the portrayal of the human race has become. Imagine if you were an alien, coming to our earth? Would you really want to get to know the people you see in the adverts?

Our advert is selling a message and the message is “ don’t believe what you see in the media”

Original Brief

"The Brand Is Me"
The idea of the project is to yourself, or an idea, through something. The something can be an animation or video in the form of an advert. It can be anything from 30 seconds to just over a minute. You are selling yourself to a client, the client will then choose from the groups who they would like to buy.
The presentation should be about 15 minutes long, showing your journey and truly selling your product.
